Barack Obama Books – Famous Readers #1

Hey seekers of quality! This is an article in the series “Famous Readers” where we collect books that famous people endorse. We try to cover only those who show real taste 😉

Barack Obama Books are a relief during these times. Former (and wishfully still) President Obama was not openly attacking Trump after handing over the office. Unforgettable is his stand-up-comedian performance during the 2011 White House Correspondents’ dinner. There he humiliated Trump and some say that Trump decided to run for office that night. How good would it feel if we knew that actually someone responsible works in the oval office. It becomes even more sad to see that the old president actually reads books. Nothing you could claim of the new presidents media intake.

Top 5 of Obama’s Books

Obama was so kind to share his dearest reads on twitter a couple of weeks ago and we took the opportunity to list them here. Some of them can definitely be seen as a gibe towards Trump.

Sorry for just quoting Obama – but we didn’t get to read the books ourselves.

Tara Westover – Educated

“Tara Westover’s ‘Educated’ is a remarkable memoir of a young woman raised in a survivalist family in Idaho who strives for education while still showing great understanding and love for the world she leaves behind,” Obama wrote.

V.S. Naipaul – A House for Mr. Biswas

“With the recent passing of V.S. Naipaul, I reread ‘A House for Mr Biswas,’ the Nobel Prize winner’s first great novel about growing up in Trinidad and the challenge of post-colonial identity,” Obama wrote.

Barack Obama Books #4

Tayari Jones – An American Marriage

“a moving portrayal of the effects of a wrongful conviction on a young African-American couple.” Obama said.

Barack Obama Books #5

Hans Rosling – Factfulness

“Factfulness is a hopeful book about the potential for human progress when we work off facts rather than our inherent biases.” Obama noted.

The book was further endorsed by Bill Gates who also gifted some to graduates. This book recommendation sure is a hint towards the fact-free  ruling of Donald J. Trump.
